What is the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)?

The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations when they do not have access to school lunch or breakfast.  This program helps children get the nutrition they need to learn, play, and grow throughout the summer months when they are out of school.

Last year, the program served more than 24,000 summer meals to children throughout the community. The Summer Meal Program is offered in partnership with the USDA's Summer Food Service Program and administered by the Iowa Department of Education.
