Return to Learn: A Message from Dr. Howard

In the next days, weeks, and months, you will be hearing a great deal about the state of Iowa’s Return to Learn initiative. Local school districts across Iowa will be developing educational delivery plans for the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. These plans will require district leaders to develop processes and practices focused on everything from thoroughly cleaning the buildings and their contents, to how and where instructional delivery is to occur at each grade level. State educational leaders are recommending South Hamilton, and every other district in Iowa, look at several potential manners with which instruction and learning could take place. The options, depending on the status per COVID-19 at the time, may range from in-person delivery, Hybrid learning – some days in school and some days of at-home schooling – and, if necessary, virtual instruction that will continue if there are further concerns pertaining to the transfer of the virus.

We will keep all up to date as the planning for South Hamilton begins and unfolds. The plan is to be submitted by July 1st, 2020 so the process will begin soon.
