Parent Tech Academy
Tonight, November 12th at 7 pm, we will hold the first Parent Tech Academy in the auditorium of the high school. If you have a youth with electronics, this Academy is for you. We will talk about different styles of electronic guidance such as trust but verify, preventative conversations, social contracts, and more. We will discuss how to setup your home WiFi to limit activity, shut items off the internet after hours, no network activity during family scheduled times, and monitoring made easy. We will discuss cell phone tracking apps, looking for hidden accounts such as “Finsta” or fake Instagram accounts and more as well.
The Parent Academy will talk about mature content. No children under the age of 18 will be allowed in. Many of the materials discussed in the Academy will be from Law-Enforcement, Tech Companies, and National data on how cell phones, game chat, and online content is used. Children can get in permanent trouble with electronic devices and need parental guidance. It takes a community that cares about kids to help them through this, and we are proud to be part of your community.
